Loctite 263 - Threadlocker - 50ml

Loctite 263 is a high-strength, red anaerobic threadlocker designed to lock and seal threaded fasteners and prevent loosening caused by vibration, shock and thermal cycling. It is suitable for applications where a permanent or difficult-to-remove threaded connection is required.

The liquid threadlocker cures when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces and in the absence of air. After curing, it fills the clearance between mating threads, helping prevent unwanted movement and leakage through the threaded joint.

How Loctite 263 Works

Loctite 263 remains liquid when exposed to air but cures when it is confined between closely fitting metal threads. The cured adhesive fills the space between the threads and creates a strong bond that helps prevent the fastener from rotating or loosening.

For optimum performance, threaded surfaces should be clean, dry and free from oil, grease and other contaminants. Apply the appropriate amount of threadlocker to the threads before assembly.

Removal and Maintenance

Because Loctite 263 provides high-strength locking, disassembly can require considerably more force than with medium-strength threadlockers. For maintenance applications, heat may be required to assist removal depending on the joint, fastener size and application conditions.

Loctite 263 is intended for applications requiring high-strength locking, whereas products such as Loctite 243 are generally selected when regular service disassembly is required.
